TOEFL iBT Complete Practice Test (Scored)

The TOEFL® iBT Complete Practice Test uses previously administered test questions from the makers of TOEFL® iBT. It measures all four communication skills - Reading , Listening, Writing, and Speaking - and simulates the real TOEFL® iBT testing experience.

Technical Requirements:
This product requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher and the installation of an audio browser. A headset and a non-voice-activated microphone are recommended for the Speaking section.

Scoring:

The Scored version provides performance feedback including scaled scores that helps you prepare for the TOEFL® iBT.

  • Reading and Listening - The feedback includes the number of correct/incorrect responses, a scaled-score range (0 to 30), and feedback analysis that helps you understand your performance level.
  • Writing - The feedback includes a rating (0 to 5) on each of the two writing tasks, a scaled score (0 to 30), and feedback analysis.

Speaking - You respond to the questions by speaking into the microphone to record your responses. Responses are scored by the SpeechRater™ program, designed as an automated scoring system for the TOEFL® Practice Speaking tests. This program uses speech recognition and processing technology to evaluate important features of your spoken responses. Scores and performance feedback are posted online within the same day, usually within minutes. The SpeechRater™ program uses all six of your responses to determine your overall spoken abilities on this test based on pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and grammar features. These features represent a subset of the criteria currently evaluated by human raters for the Speaking Section of the TOEFL® iBT. SpeechRater™ scores for these features from the six responses are combined. The total score is then converted to a score on a scale from 0-30. The reported score for the Speaking Section of the TOEFL® iBT will also always be on this scale of 0-30. The SpeechRater™ Scores have been found to be related to the human scores produced using the scoring criteria for the Speaking Section of the TOEFL® iBT.

The Reading section consists of three academic reading passages.

  • Questions measure your ability to understand and analyze the meaning of the passages.
  • New features include a glossary and a review option.

The Listening section consists of two conversations and four lectures.

  • Questions measure your ability to understand what you’ve heard.
  • You may take notes while you listen.
  • Some lectures also include classroom dialogue.

The Writing section consists of two tasks.

  • For the first task, you will read a passage about an academic topic and then listen to a lecture on the same topic. You may take notes while you do this. You then use your notes to write a response based on what you have read and heard.
  • For the second task, you write a response based on your own knowledge and experience.

The Speaking section consists of six tasks.

  • The two independent tasks require you to speak on familiar topics.
  • The four integrated tasks require you to combine more than one skill when responding. For example, you will read a passage and listen to a brief lecture or conversation and then speak in response.
