In ensuring the quality of the workforce from different countries, organizations have adopted an English proficiency standard that requires all aspiring candidates to take an English proficiency test.

Steps in Obtaining your CGFNS Certificate

  1. Credential Review
    Based on the following:
    • Education
    • Registration
    • Licensure
    You are only eligible to take the CGFNS exam after passing the credential evaluation.

  2. CGFNS Qualifying Exam
    • One day qualifying exam of nursing knowledge
    • Consists of 260 multiple choice questions
    • Administered in 40 countries worldwide in March, July, September and November
  3. English Language Proficiency Certificate

    You need an ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST to get your CGFNS Certificate

        Passing TOEIC score for nurses is 725.


Health Professionals

As a health professional in the UK, it is important that one can effectively communicate in English. Thus, the Health Professions Council requires candidates to take an "Academic" English proficiency test.

The Test of English for International Communication is accepted by the Health Professions Council and is officially represented by Hopkins International Partners, Inc. in the Philippines.

        Passing TOEIC score for Health Professionals is 810.

TOEIC - Test of English for International Communication
  • TOEIC is a two-hour, paper-and-pencil test with 200 multiple-choice questions divided in two parts.

    Part I: Listening Comprehension
    • 100 items divided into four parts;
    • 45 minutes;
    • Delivered by audio cassette;
    • Choices for each test item are based on a variety of statements, questions, short conversations, and short talks.


    Part II: Reading Comprehension
    • 100 items divided into three parts;

    • 75 minutes;

    • Questions are based on a variety of reading materials;

    • Test takers are at their own pace in responding to this section of the examination.

      Additional 40 minutes for registration and background questionnaire.
