  1. What is TOEIC?
    • TOEIC is the Test of English for International Communication. TOEIC was developed by Educational Test Service (ETS), the world's largest private educational measurement organization that also constructed TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT, and TSE.
    • It is a 2-hour English proficiency test that measures both listening and reading skills.
    • TOEIC measures English language skills.

  2. Who uses TOEIC?
    • Foreigners (i.e. Koreans, Japanese, and Chinese): It is used as a certification to pursue further studies or as an employment requirement

    • Allied Health Professionals (Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Radiographer and Medical Technologist): It can be used for visa screening in UK and as a HPC (Health Professionals Council) membership requirement.  Minimum TOEIC score is 810.

    • Nurses: It is needed to get CGFNS certificate.  Minimum TOEIC score is 725.

    • Foreign Working / Immigrant Visa Applicants (for countries using English as a native language): It is a requirement for visa applications

    • Students: It can either be used as an exit test or an assessment tool for intensive English courses

    • Employees/teachers: It may be used as an assessment test for further training

    • Others: It is used as a self-assessment tool.


  3. When and where do I pay?
    • For provincial test-takers: Payment is made during registration at least 3 days before the examination.

    • For Hopkins test-takers: Payment is made in the Makati Office on the day of the examination.

    • A partial refund of half the test fee for cancellations made at least 3 full days before the test date

  4. What are the requirements before taking the TOEIC test?
    • 1 pc. passport-size picture
    • 1 valid ID
      • For Filipinos - PRC ID, SSS ID, TIN ID, passport, drivers license, company ID

      • For foreigners - original passport

    Test takers must read the examinee handbook before taking the test.


  5. When and where can I take TOEIC?

    • The TOEIC score reports will be available where the test-takers took the test.

    • The TOEIC score reports for provincial sites are available 5 - 7 working days after the examination. However, for groups with more than 20 participants, results are available in 7 - 10 days.


  7. What do we need to bring for the test?
    • All materials will be provided by Hopkins International like pencils and erasers. Scratch papers or other writing materials are not allowed in the testing site.


  8. Can we take TOEIC again? If yes, when?
    • A test-taker will be allowed to take another TOEIC test only after a lapse of one (1) month from the date of his previous test.

  9. For nurses, who will send the score report to CGFNS main office and how much will be the mailing fee?
    • Hopkins International will send the score report to the main office of CGFNS in Philadelphia. Hopkins will charge the nurses an additional transmittal fee of P1, 200.00.


  10. Can the examinees get an additional score report and how much? When will it be available?
    • Yes, the examinees may request for an additional score report for a fee of P300.00. The score report will be available the next day.


  11. How long is the validity of the TOEIC test?
    • The TOEIC result/score report is valid for two years.

  12. What is the difference between TOEIC and TOEFL?
    • TOEIC is a test that measures and classifies English language skills for the workplace while TOEFL is an academic test of English for students entering universities.
