What is Promoting English Proficiency (PEP) all about?

Manpower is the richest resource of the Philippines. Better English for Filipino workers and students helps our country maintain its leading competitive advantage in the global economy.

PEP aims to promote economic development and reduce unemployment in the Philippines by developing and maintaining a world-class labor force with English proficiency meeting the highest international standards.

  • Certification - TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)
  • English Language Training

PEP is a joint project of the Makati Business Club's Philippines-U.S. Business Council and the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. The program is intended to improve the level of proficiency in English among teachers and students in both the formal and non-formal sectors.

The program was designed by a committee composed of representatives from the Philippines-U.S. Business Council, American Chamber of Commerce, Sun Microsystems Philippines, Inc., TOEIC represented by Hopkins International Partners, Inc., DynEd represented by Interactive Language Solutions (ILS) and the Knowledge Institute. The Knowledge Institute has been designated project manager.
